Is GOD there? I used to strongly believe, but now i am lost. I don't even know where to begin in my search. I feel empty, my heart is cold. I feel sadness beyond belief and circumstance.
I have a near perfect life a perfect supportive husband, a beautiful house, two great dogs. What would i ever have reason to feel sad and empty?
I sense that he is there. actually i cant sense him at all.
To start i will ask my christian Friends their thoughts on finding God.
I have ordered some books with advice. I am going to try every way i can think of to see if he is still there, or has he given up on me who, has given up on him so many times.
I need to not just find God, but i need to feel him alive and strong in my heart. Any questions, answers and comments, i am open to. Please let me know about your thoughts and beliefs for any religion. I would love info on Buddhism.

It's not so much the hurdle of finding God, it's a matter of believing in God and what he has promised.
From my experience I have found that many people go through a so called "dark night of the soul" (been there after my Mother died)--where for years they don't feel that God is near and feel lost.
It is certainly not an unusual feeling with all the stress you and our family have had this year. Don't discount how buying a house, getting married, finishing school and your father-in-law dying as well as any other issues you may be facing would affect how you feel about God.
But God still feels the same way about you and does want to "be found" He delights in you and would never give up on you, no matter what you have done or will do in the future.
Starting with a daily simple prayer may help.
First, for forgiveness, then for requests (keep family safe, help me get through the day, etc.), then for thanksgiving (thank you for wonderful husband, home, family, etc.). It is simple and quick and helps connect you with your priorities--even if you don't necessarily believe right now that God is listening.
